Purpose:
Estate Planning for Forest Landowners provides you with a working knowledge of federal estate and gift tax and an overview of state death tax considerations applicable to timberland in your estate. The implications of recent tax law changes for accumulating and protecting forestry assets are discussed. Strategies for intergenerational transfer of timberland are emphasized. The short course focuses on each major area of estate and gift tax law and estate planning that affects timber assets. Examples are used to illustrate various estate planning strategies and procedures applicable to forest properties. Ample time is provided for discussion, including a review of recent decisions, IRS regulations and administrative rulings concerning forest estates.
Designed for:
Forest landowners, forestry consultants, landowner assistance foresters, accountants, attorneys, and estate planners. Others who work with forest owners in matters pertaining to tax and estate planning will also benefit from this course.
Registration:
Early registration fee for this workshop is $195 and includes an annotated set of teaching notes, refreshment breaks, and lunch. (After June 27, the registration fee increases to $235).
